Industry marks 19th Pre-Need Consciousness Week
The Philippine Federation of Pre-Need Plan Companies, Inc. (PFPPCI) celebrates the 19th Pre-Need Consciousness Week starting last Feb. 1 and through Feb. 7. With the theme “Nagkakaisa Para sa Pamilyang Pilipino,” the celebration highlights the importance of having a pre-need plan to help Filipino families cope at the time of need.
Since Pre-need Consciousness Week began on a weekend, Saturday Feb. 1, pre-need plan companies formally opened the celebration last Monday, Feb. 3, with a thanksgiving mass at the Sto. Nino de Paz Greenbelt Chapel in Makati City.
Today (Feb. 5), there will be a bowling tournament among representatives from the Federation member companies starting at 2 p.m. at Coronado Lanes, Starmall, EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City.
Insurance Commissioner Dennis B. Funa addresses the gathering tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 6) as guest of honor and speaker in a Forum at 2 p.m. at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel (Manila AB Function Room. He is expected to discuss issues and concerns affecting the pre-need industry and the importance of having a pre-need plan for the peace of mind of Filipino families when the need arises.
Funa is also expected to highlight in his talk the stability and reliability of pre-need companies in ensuring that promised services are delivered to Filipino individuals, families and communities.
The 19th Pre-need Consciousness Week is spearheaded by officers and members of the PFPPCI led by Federation president Elmer M. Lorica, president and chief operating officer of Eternal Plans, Inc.
The annual celebration of the Pre-Need Consciousness Week, Lorica said, remains as a constant reminder to all pre-need companies that they play a vital role in promoting awareness to every Filipino that pre-need plans, whether education, pension, or memorial life plans, are essential in providing for the future needs of Filipino families.
